Mathematics
Mathematics is fascinating and important because it is found in all aspects of life. Mathematics is an essential part of any student’s education, enabling them to make sense of numbers and patterns, space and geometry, statistics and probability. Mathematics is unique in that it allows students to simplify a problem down to its bare essentials. People have been puzzling over mathematics for thousands of years, and will continue to do so for thousands more.

In years 7 to 10, we look at developing skills to deal with everyday life skills, such as working with decimals and percentages, reading graphs and using measurements, drawing sensible diagrams and analysing data. Also we begin to develop skills, such as problem solving, logical thinking and communicating clearly.
Senior Mathematics
In Years 11 to 13, higher level thinking is developed in topics such as algebra, trigonometry and statistics, for use in mathematical career paths. Amazingly, a huge range of people need mathematics to pursue their path. Interested in any of the following? Then you’ll need maths!
